
What to do in case of smoke and gas detector alarm


If you hear a very high-pitched alarm coming from the smoke and gas detector in your kitchen, proceed as follows.
​The detector warns if there is an excessive amount of smoke or gas in the room. It can happen that cooking some foods at high temperature (for example roasting meat and fish) causes excessive generation of smoke, despite the activation of the absorption hood.
​First of all turn off the stove and open the windows. The alarm should stop automatically after a few minutes.
​If the alarm continues, you can intervene on the device by climbing on a chair and mute it by pressing the button on the detector device. Then you need to close the gas tap, located in the kitchen (see photo below), and immediately notify the owner by telephone at
